It must be in sight from the motor location and the driven machinery location [430.102(B)(1)]. It must also be readily accessible [430.107].
- Yes, but only if it is part of a listed combination motor controller [430.109(A)(4)].
- It has to be rated at least 115% of the full load current of the motor [430.110(A)]. See the motor nameplate for this value. Also note the exception for a listed, unfused motor switch.
