  3. Per Article 100, grounding means "connect to earth" and bonding means "connect via metallic pathway." There is no technical reason to connect equipment to earth. Also, Part V discusses bonding in a way the precludes such a thing as being a code requirement. What is meant here is bonding.

  4. [250.130(A) and (B)]. For grounded systems, bond the equipment grounding conductor (EGC) to the grounded service conductor and the grounding electrode conductor. For ungrounded systems, bond the EGC to the grounding electrode conductor (there is no grounded service conductor).
